Trends in FX will be strong this year - DB

FXStreet (Bali) - According to Deutsche Bank Research Team, they believe trends in the FX market will be strong this year, but that the script will be different from last year.

Key Quotes

"The year has kicked off with a bang. After a big rally over the last six months the broad dollar is sitting at its strongest level in a decade. The most important question for 2015 is if this will be another blockbuster year for FX or a B-movie sequel where trends stall and the dollar disappoints."

"We believe trends will be strong, but that the script will be different from last year. Some of the 2014 moves will disappoint for their lack of follow-through. Other trends will persist and strengthen."

"Either way, we think currencies will remain in the global limelight: groundbreaking shifts are materializing in monetary policy, in turn prompting big swings in global capital flows."

"Dramatic moves are also taking place in oil prices, in turn causing large changes in trade balances and relative economic performance. It is the relative impact of these once-in-a-generation moves in central bank policy and commodity prices that forms the common thread of most of our trade recommendations."
